E-Classroom
The RVR & JC College of Engineering has commissioned the E-Learning Centre in the Cyber Block at estimated cost of Rs. 80 lakh. The centre has a seating capacity of 76 participants. Some of the salient features of the E-Classroom are:
- Multi-point presentation capability
- Integrated multimedia systems for audio and video presentations
- Computers for all the paticipants / students
- Internet facility to all the participants / students
- Video conferencing facility
- Availability UGC Learning Television Channels like Gyan Darshan
The E-classroom has equipment from major blue chip companies such as HP Compaq Computers, Cisco, Seinheiser and Creston Controls. However, it is not only the individual components that are impressive, but also the collective capability of this equipment to provide a truly next generation classroom for the teachers and the students.
The E-classroom is used for the following purposes at present:
- Training programs for faculty members
- Video conferencing
- Guest lectures from experts for staff and students
- Preview of recorded expert lectures from IITs
- Regular class work
The following hardware is available in the e-classroom.
- 76 HP Compaq 6000 Pro series desktop computers for participants / students
- Four 24-port Cisco Catalyst 2960 Switches for networking
- Four Seinheiser Cordless Microphones for speakers
- One Creston Controls PLC for complete automation of the E-learning centre
- One Sanyo LCD projector for presentation
- One Samsung DVD player for playing DVD / VCDs
